Server projects
Work with a server's projects in the Mac app, with the same Board, Agents, Runs, Workflow and Workspaces screens as local projects.
A server's projects appear under the server in the sidebar, with the same rows and the same tabs as local projects. Everything runs on the server; the app shows its live state and sends your actions, each checked against your role.
The tabs#
| Tab | On a server project |
|---|---|
| Board | The live board, long-polled from the server. Create, move and comment on tasks, Dispatch Now, Stop Agent, Resume Retries and Stop Waiting on Linked Tasks (operator). Comments you add are signed — <you> via SI Fabrik. |
| Agents | Running agents and their live, redacted transcripts (operator). Stop (operator). |
| Runs | The server's run history. Replaying a transcript needs operator. |
| Workflow | The server's WORKFLOW.md, with the same form, prompt preview and source. Reading needs operator; Save… needs admin and is refused if the file changed since you opened it, doesn't validate, or asks for less isolation than the server's sandbox floor. |
| Workspaces | The server's task workspaces, with their branch, whether it's saved to the repository, and whether it's in use (operator). Removing one needs admin; the branch is saved first. The header shows On the server. |
The project header shows the server and its address. Start, Stop and pause need the admin role; for other roles they're hidden.
Project secrets and test logins#
Admins open the project's … menu → Project Secrets & Test Logins…. It lists the project's variables by name and source, and its test logins without passwords. Set Variable, Replace…, Remove… and Add Login each ask for a code from your authenticator. Values are write-only. See Server secrets.
Add, move and remove projects#
Admins can:
- Add Project under the server in the sidebar: a repository URL, its workflow path and whether to start now.
- Move to Server on a local project's context menu: the same, prefilled, with its variables, test logins and (for the built-in board) open tasks.
- Remove from Server… on a project added from the app.
See Projects on a server for the details and the checks.
What isn't available yet#
Some actions need files or processes on your Mac, so they're local-only for now:
- Preview (opening the app an agent runs) and the live browser;
- Open Terminal in Sandbox;
- revealing a workspace in Finder or opening it in an editor.
App previews, the live browser and the terminal through harnessd, behind the same sign-in.
Keep it fast#
The app long-polls each project (requests wait up to 25 seconds for a change), so updates arrive within a second or so without constant traffic. If the server is unreachable, Server Settings shows the error and the app keeps retrying.
